Disclaimer
Read this before acting on anything we publish
This page states plainly what HOSTING123 (hosting123.org) is and is not promising you. It exists because hosting purchases involve real money and multi-year commitments, and because the honest answer to “which host should I pick” always contains the words “it depends”. This disclaimer forms part of our Terms of Service.
Affiliate disclosure
HOSTING123 earns money from affiliate links. If you click a link to a hosting provider, registrar, or tool on this site and then make a purchase, we may receive a commission. This costs you nothing extra: the commission comes from the vendor’s marketing budget, and in some cases our links carry discounts that make the price lower than walking in directly. Every review and comparison page that contains affiliate links is subject to this disclosure, whether or not a per-page notice appears.
What the commission does not buy is the score. Rankings are settled from test data before affiliate links are attached, writers do not see commission rates, and hosts with no affiliate program are tested with the same paid accounts and the same monitors as hosts that pay well. The safeguards are described in full on our Editorial Standards page and Ownership and Funding page. We tell you this not to claim we are saints but because the incentive is real, and the only honest response to a real incentive is a visible process.
Your results will vary, and here is why
A hosting benchmark is a measurement of one account, on one server, in one datacenter, during one window of time, running one test site. It is the most honest data we can generate, and it is still not a prophecy about your website. Things that change the outcome and that no review can fully control:
- Server assignment: on shared and cloud plans, the specific machine and the behaviour of the other customers on it materially affect your speed. Two accounts on the same plan can perform differently on the same day.
- Your site itself: a lean static site and a plugin-heavy WordPress install can differ by an order of magnitude on identical hardware. A slow theme will be slow everywhere.
- Geography: our response-time numbers are measured from stated locations. Your visitors live somewhere else, and distance to the datacenter matters.
- Time: hosts migrate hardware, oversell, improve, and decay. A measurement from last quarter describes last quarter, which is why our charts carry date ranges and our reviews carry last-verified dates.
Use our numbers to compare hosts against each other under equal conditions. Do not read them as a guarantee of the numbers you will get.
Pricing changes faster than any website
Promotional hosting prices change constantly, renewal prices differ sharply from first-term prices, and regional pricing means the offer you see can differ from the offer we saw. We verify prices against the actual checkout at the time of writing and recheck them on a schedule, as described in our Corrections Policy, but the only price that binds anyone is the one on the provider’s checkout page at the moment you buy. If you spot a mismatch, tell us at support@hosting123.org and we will fix the page.
Not professional advice
Everything on this site is general information and editorial opinion. It is not legal, financial, tax, or professional technical advice, and it does not account for your specific circumstances. Guides about SEO describe practices that search engines change without notice; guides about WordPress and server configuration are written carefully but are followed at your own risk, and you should back up before changing anything on a live site. For decisions with serious consequences, consult a qualified professional who can look at your actual situation.
Third-party content and marks
Vendor names, logos, and screenshots appear on this site to identify the products under review. Their presence does not mean a vendor endorses us, and a review score does not mean we endorse everything a vendor does. Linked third-party sites are outside our control, and their content, terms, and privacy practices are their own.
The bottom line
We test with our own money, publish what we measure, and correct what we get wrong. Beyond that, no warranty is given, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law we accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of this site. Questions: support@hosting123.org.
